There are different ways that blood banks screen for diseases within a person's blood. One of these ways is through a donor screening questionnaire. In this questionnaire, the donor will be asked questions regarding his recent travel history, family medical history, personal medical history, etc. These questions will assist the doctors in determining if the donor has clean, uninfected blood. Another way that the doctors will ensure that the donor is safe is by testing the blood with in-depth lab tests.
